How many questions do I need to answer correctly in order to pass the PTCE?

Due to the complexity of the scoring process, it is not possible to provide a number of questions that must be answered correctly in order to pass the exam.

PTCB uses scaled scoring. The use of scaled scores is necessary because different forms of the PTCE are administered every year, and these forms may fluctuate slightly in difficulty. The passing scaled score for the PTCE is 1400, with a range of possible scores of 1000 to 1600. More information on scoring can be found on our Scoring page.
