Why can't I schedule my PTCE exam appointment with Pearson VUE?

In order to schedule your exam appointment with Pearson VUE, you must first apply for certification through your PTCB Account, have your application approved, and receive authorization to schedule. 

Typically, your application will be instantly approved if you submit your application fee payment by card (with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express logo) or you are sponsored by an organization, and do not require testing accommodations or your eligibility to be determined based on any criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure actions.

Have you submitted an application through your PTCB Account?

To apply for a PTCB credential, log into your PTCB Account and click the Apply button on your PTCB Account homepage. You will need to complete the application and submit your application fee payment in order to be authorized to schedule your exam appointment.

Is your school or employer paying your application fees?

If you are sponsored by your educational institution or employer, the time-frame of your sponsorship's approval will depend on your sponsor. Once your sponsor approves your sponsorship, and your application is approved by PTCB, you will receive a notification by email regarding your authorization to schedule your exam appointment.

Do you require testing accommodations?

If you require testing accommodations, it may take approximately 15 business days from the date your Testing Accommodations Request is submitted for your request to be processed. Once your request is approved and processed, you will receive an email confirming your approved accommodations and another email indicating your authorization to schedule your exam appointment.

Do you require your eligibility to be determined?

If you require your eligibility to be determined, based on any criminal and State Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure disciplinary actions, it may take approximately 4 weeks from the date your documentation is submitted for your eligibility to be determined and application processed. If it is determined that you are eligible, you will receive an email authorization to schedule your exam appointment. If it is determined you are not eligible, you will be emailed a letter with details concerning your eligibility.

Scheduling

Once your application is approved, you will receive an Authorization to Schedule email. After you are authorized, log into your PTCB Account and click the "Schedule My Exam Appointment" link under your exam's "Manage My..." tile. You may also call Pearson VUE at 866-902-0593 to schedule your exam appointment, Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm ET.
