What is the applying and scheduling process for a candidate for which my organization is paying?

First, a candidate must create an account at www.ptcb.org.

Once an account is created, the candidate will need to submit an application for certification. During the application process, the candidate will be asked if they are sponsored and, if they are, they will have the opportunity to select their employer or educator and provide any relevant information, such as employee or student ID number or voucher. Learn more:

Once an application is approved, candidates will be authorized to schedule and take the PTCE. The authorization to schedule lasts for 90 days, starting from the date the application is approved.

Candidates may schedule exam appointments online or call Pearson VUE at (866) 902-0593. The PTCE is administered at Pearson VUE test centers nationwide. For test center locations, please visit Pearson VUE's Test Center Locator page.

Once a candidate has scheduled an appointment, an email confirmation will be sent to them within approximately 24 hours.

Candidates with approved testing accommodations may schedule an exam appointment by calling 800-466-0450.
