What is the applying and scheduling process for a sponsored candidate?

First, a candidate must create an account at www.ptcb.org.

Once an account is created, the candidate will need to submit an application for certification. During the application process, the candidate will be asked if they are sponsored and, if they are, they will have the opportunity to select their sponsor and provide any relevant information, such as employee or student ID number.

Once an application is approved, candidates will be authorized to schedule and take the PTCE. The authorization to schedule lasts for 90 days, starting from the date the application is approved.

Candidates may schedule exam appointments online or call Pearson VUE at (866) 902-0593. The PTCE is administered at over 235 Pearson VUE test centers nationwide. For test center locations, please visit Pearson VUE's Test Center Locator page.

Once a candidate has scheduled an appointment, an email confirmation will be sent to them within approximately 24 hours.

Candidates with approved special testing accommodations must call (800) 466-0450 to schedule exam appointments.
