What are the benefits of earning PTCB Assessment-Based Certificates?

Earning PTCB Assessment-Based Certificates sets pharmacy technicians apart, helping them build rewarding careers in health care. These certificates validate advanced knowledge, enhancing collaboration with pharmacists to provide safe, effective patient care. They also bring technicians closer to achieving the Certified Advanced Pharmacy TechnicianTM (CPhT-Adv™) Certification. Employers may build their pharmacy teams by requiring PTCB credentials, paving the way for technicians to step into advanced and specialized roles (like regulatory compliance, sterile compounding, MTM, etc.) that drive efficiency and elevate patient care. Independent research also shows that those who earn PTCB’s specialty and advanced credentials consistently enjoy higher salaries.

Earning Assessment-Based Certificates is optional and is not a requirement for obtaining or maintaining active CPhT Certification. Requirements for CPhT Certification and renewal can be found on ptcb.org.

PTCB offers a variety of specialized certificates to enhance your expertise in critical pharmacy areas. Each certificate you earn showcases your knowledge, skills, and commitment to patient care and pharmacy safety.
