I completed an education/training program prior to my previous exam attempt. Can it be used to meet the requirements for the education/training pathway?

Yes, there is no time limit on how long ago a PTCB-recognized education/training program had to be completed, including if the program was completed prior to previous exam attempts.

If applying for CPhT certification to retake the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE®) a fifth or more time, the applicant must also complete one of the following preparation activities:

  • Six months or more of tutoring by a pharmacist or PTCB CPhT (PTCE Preparation Attestation Form Required
  • Completion of a formal review course or non-accredited training program
  • Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited training program
  • Graduation from a pharmacy technician associate degree (AS) program
