How do I claim the CPhT-Adv Certification once I become eligible?

To claim the Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician™ (CPhT-Adv™) Certification, take the following steps: 

1. Once you meet the CPhT-Adv eligibility requirements, you will receive an email notification from PTCB to claim your credential.
   • Log into your PTCB Account.
2. Navigate
   • Scroll to View My Certificates on the homepage.
   • Click Congratulations! Claim your Advanced CPhT (CPhT-Adv) Certification link.

3. Review
   • Review the information on the Understanding CPhT-Adv page.
     • Click Continue.
   • Review the Terms and Conditions page.
     • Click Continue.
4. Provide
   • Enter work experience information.
     • Click Continue.
5. Confirmation
   • The confirmation page will display, confirming your certification upgrade to CPhT-Adv.

Transition from CPhT to CPhT-Adv Certification

After you’ve claimed your CPhT-Adv certification:

• Your CPhT-Adv Certification replaces your CPhT Certification.
  • Example: Jane Smith, CPhT is now Jane Smith, CPhT-Adv.
• Your certification number remains the same.
• Your CPhT-Adv renewal cycle aligns with your original CPhT renewal cycle.

Cost of CPhT-Adv Certification

• Initial Claim: Free of charge—no fees are required to claim your CPhT-Adv Certification
• Recertification: $55, required every two years
  • Late Fee: A $25 fee applies if you apply after the deadline (the first day of your certification expiration month) but before the expiration date
• Reinstatement: $95
