The CSPT Certification was designed for individuals actively working in Compounded Sterile Preparation.
An active PTCB CPhT must qualify for CSPT under one of the following pathways:
- Pathway 1: Completion of, or enrollment in, a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program for the CSPT Program AND one year of full-time continuous compounded sterile preparation (CSP) work experience.A
- Pathway 2: Three years of full-time continuous compounded sterile preparation (CSP) work experience.B
AFull-time continuous compounded sterile preparation (CSP) work experience is defined as at least 30 hours/week.
BWork experience must be within the last eight years. Part-time employment and roles that include, but are not fully devoted, to sterile compounding qualify. Sterile compounding experience must have been completed in a US facility and subject to USP <797> and <800> regulations.
