For Educators/Employers: What are vouchers and how can I create one?

A PTCB voucher is a unique number generated by an employer or educator and provided to a technician. It allows the organization to cover the cost of the technician’s credential exam fees, renewal fees, or PTCB Practice Tools.

20 STEPS

1. Open PTCB.org and click "Login"

5. Scroll down to "Manage Direct Billing" and Select from the Drop Down Menu

6. Click on the PTCB Product you would like to manage

7. Click "Add vouchers" to create vouchers

8. Scroll down and click "Add Vouchers"

9. In the pop-up, type the number of vouchers you would like to create

10. Click "Add"

11. Scroll down to the Voucher Chart to view your created vouchers [This is a tool for you to track your vouchers]

12. Scroll to the "Designated For" Column and Click on an "Unassigned" link

13. In the pop-up box, type the name of your candidate

14. Click "Save"

15. Scroll down to the Voucher Chart

16. Provide your candidate with the voucher number assigned to them

17. Scroll up and click "Educator Dashboard" to return to the homepage

How to Create Vouchers 

  1. Log In
  2. Navigate
    • Scroll to Manage Direct Billing.
    • Click the drop-down menu, and select which PTCB Product you would like to manage (i.e., PTCE, CSPT, Assessment-Based Certificates, or a PTCB Practice Tool).
      Note: Vouchers are only valid for the product they are created for.
  3. Add Vouchers
    • Click Add Vouchers.
    • Scroll down and click Add Vouchers. 
    • Type the quantity of vouchers you would like to create (i.e., type “5” to create five new vouchers).
  4. View Vouchers Created
    • Scroll down to the voucher chart and then scroll to the column Designated For. All newly created vouchers will say Unassigned. Review “How do I designate a voucher?” for more information.

Important: Unassigned vouchers will remain on this page until a candidate redeems them. Once a voucher is redeemed it is considered assigned. Information about assigned vouchers is available on the Manage Vouchers page.

Key features of vouchers:

    • An account manager can create any number of vouchers at no charge and distribute them to eligible candidates.
    • The candidate enters their voucher number within the application. 
    • PTCB invoices on a monthly basis. 
    • After the candidate completes their credential exam or practice exam, the organization will be provided an invoice the month following the exam date. 
    • A 10% discount is applied to the standard $65 PTCE Practice Bank® price as an educator or employer enrolled in direct billing.
    • A $10 discount is applied to the standard $29 Pre-PTCE® exam price as an educator or employer enrolled in direct billing.

How to Export Vouchers

To export or download information tables as a CSV file for flexible reporting, follow these steps:

  1. Look for the Export to .csv option at the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the option and select the location where you want to save the file.
