What are the eligibility requirements for the Assessment-Based Certificates?

The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) offers several Assessment-Based Certificate Programs to active PTCB CPhT/CPhT-AdvTM Certification holders. These programs are designed to recognize advanced knowledge and skills in specific pharmacy roles.

To earn an Assessment-Based Certificate, an applicant must:

  • Apply through their PTCB Account
  • Pay the application fee, and
  • Pass the exam

Each Assessment-Based Certificate also has its own specific requirements. One of these possible requirements is completion of a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program (REP). REPs have been reviewed and found to provide learners with foundational knowledge that will help them be successful on PTCB exams. Please note that REPs may not cover all information that appears on your exam. It is important that you review the exam content outline as part of your preparation and seek supplemental resources as needed.
