You may withdraw your PTCB certification exam application if you:
- Are within your 90-day authorization window, and
- Have not yet scheduled your exam or have canceled your scheduled appointment.
Log into your PTCB Account and use the withdrawal link to withdraw your application and receive a refund, minus the $50 administrative fee*. Your original form of payment will be refunded within 3 weeks of the date of withdrawal.*
*Candidates with an employer or educator-sponsored application are not charged an administrative fee.
Already scheduled your exam? You must first cancel your appointment with Pearson, and then withdraw your application through your PTCB Account. To cancel, use the My Scheduled Exam button in your PTCB Account or call Pearson at 866-902-0593 (7am - 7pm CT, Monday - Friday).
Need more time? Don’t withdraw your application; extend your authorization to schedule. Extensions are available for $20 and extend the authorization to schedule period by 90 days. There is a limit of two 90-day extensions. Extensions must be purchased before the end of each 90-day authorization period. If you already scheduled your exam, you must cancel the exam appointment before purchasing an extension.
