How do I earn the CPhT-Adv Certification?

To earn the Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician™ (CPhT-Adv™) Certification, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Active Certification: Hold an active PTCB CPhT in good standing.
  2. Work Experience: Have at least three (3) years of pharmacy technician work experience within the past eight (8) years.
  3. Certificate Requirements: Earn either:
    • Four PTCB Assessment-Based Certificates, or 
    • Three Certificate Programs plus the Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician® (CSPT®) Certification.

  • No Additional Exam: There is no CPhT-Adv™ Exam. Once you meet the above requirements, you can claim the certification through your PTCB Account by following the provided instructions.
  • Exam Requirements for Certificates: Each PTCB Assessment-Based Certificate, however, requires an exam to earn that specific certificate.
