You can purchase the PTCE Practice Bank for a nonrefundable fee of $65 through the link available in your PTCB Account.

What’s the Difference Between the PTCE Practice Bank and the Pre-PTCE®?

PTCB recommends that candidates first study using the Practice Bank and then take the Pre-PTCE as a final check of readiness before attempting the PTCE.

90-day Subscription

• After the PTCE Practice Bank is purchased, you will have unlimited access to it for 90 days. During this period, you can use the Practice Bank as often as you like or until you become certified.

*If you become certified as a CPhT before the 90-day period ends, your access to the Practice Bank will be terminated.

Getting Started

1. Log in to your PTCB Account and click Purchase the PTCE Practice Bank. 
2. Agree to the Practice Bank Agreement by clicking the I agree to the Candidate Agreement above.
3. Identify if you are sponsored by your employer or education institution.
   1. If you are sponsored, select Yes, select your program and enter the voucher number. You will need to agree to the Sponsor Terms and Conditions.
   2. If you are not sponsored by your employer or education institution, select No.
4. Click Add to Cart, review the Order Summary and click Checkout.
5. Go to your Dashboard and click Access Your PTCE Practice Bank under the Prepare section.

How to Use the PTCE Practice Bank

There are two tabs you can choose from to customize the level of difficulty, the category, and amount of items you want to review. 

Study Questions

Click the pencil icon next to either Study Questions for all PTCE knowledge domains or one of the four PTCE knowledge domains.

Customizing your Study Questions: Before starting a “test,” you can adjust the number of questions, set the difficulty level (1 = easiest, 5 = hardest), and choose the timer duration.

• If your instructor purchased the Practice Bank for you, they can assign specific tests. 
• After completing a test, you can view explanations for the correct answers by clicking DETAILS. Progress bars provide visual feedback on your overall performance.

 

Study Deck

Click the icon next to either Study Deck for all domains or one of the four domains.

• You can choose the number of cards you want to review and select the level of difficulty for each domain, then click Start. 

Note: All cards are initially “not rated” until you assign a difficulty level to each flashcard.

• To flip the flashcard, click anywhere on the card. Use the Next button to move to the next card, or the Previous button to go back.

• Customizing your Study Deck experience: While using the flashcards, you can select the difficulty level for each one. If you mark a flashcard as “Hard,” it will come back up to be reviewed again in future sessions.
