How do I recertify my CPhT Certification?

To recertify your CPhT certification, PTCB requires that you:

Earn 20 pharmacy technician-specific continuing education (CE) hours, including:

  • 1 hour specifically in the subject of pharmacy law
  • 1 hour specifically in the subject of patient safety

CE activities must be completed within your current two-year certification period.

While PTCB does not provide or endorse specific CE programs, we do provide a list of some CE providers.

A link to submit your application for recertification will show on your PTCB Account homepage beginning 60 days prior to your certification expiration date.

To begin the application process, go to your PTCB Account > Manage My CPhT Certification section > Apply for Recertification link.
