To renew your CPhT Certification, follow these steps:
- Complete 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) that meet the requirements below. Visit the CE Directory for a list of ACPE-accredited CEs.
The CPhT renewal requirements are:
Total CEs Required | 20 hours |
Technician-specific (T-specific) | Requires at least 15 hours |
Pharmacist-specific (P-specific) | Allows up to 5 hours (optional) |
Pharmacy Law (03 Topic Designator) | Requires 1* |
Patient Safety (05 Topic Designator) | Requires 1 |
*Two (2) pharmacy law CE hours are required when applying for reinstatement.
- Verify you have completed your CE activities within your 2-year recertification cycle in CPE Monitor.
- Apply for recertification through your PTCB Account. You can renew 60 days before your certification expiration date. Your application deadline is 30 days before your certification expiration date.
