How do I recertify my CPhT Certification?

To renew your CPhT Certification, follow these steps:

  1. Complete 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE) that meet the requirements below. Visit the CE Directory for a list of ACPE-accredited CEs. 

The CPhT renewal requirements are: 

Total CEs Required 20 hours
Technician-specific (T-specific) Requires at least 15 hours
Pharmacist-specific (P-specific) Allows up to 5 hours (optional)
Pharmacy Law (03 Topic Designator) Requires 1*
Patient Safety (05 Topic Designator) Requires 1
*Two (2) pharmacy law CE hours are required when applying for reinstatement.
  1. Verify you have completed your CE activities within your 2-year recertification cycle in CPE Monitor
  2. Apply for recertification through your PTCB Account. You can renew 60 days before your certification expiration date. Your application deadline is 30 days before your certification expiration date.
