How do I recertify my CPhT Certification?

To renew your CPhT Certification, follow these steps:

  1. Complete 20 hours of Continuing Education (CE)
Total CEs Required 20 hours
Technician-specific (T-specific) Requires at least 15 hours
Pharmacist-specific (P-specific) Allows up to 5 hours (optional)
Pharmacy Law (03 Topic Designator) Requires 1*
Patient Safety (05 Topic Designator) Requires 1

*Two (2) pharmacy law CE hours are required when applying for reinstatement.

  1. Verify CE Completion
    Ensure all CE activities are completed within your recertification cycle by checking CPE Monitor
  2. Log into Your PTCB Account
    Access your PTCB Account to begin the renewal process.
  3. Apply for Recertification
    Click Renew. 
    • You can renew beginning 60 days before your certification expiration date. 
    • The application deadline is 30 days before your certification expiration date. Apply by this deadline to avoid a $25 late fee.

  1. Pay the Recertification Fee.
    Submit the required payment to complete your renewal.
